“37. (1) On a motion made and when necessary seconded, the Presiding Officer shall propose the question to the Assembly, and after debate, if any , shall then put the question for the decision of the Assembly.

(2) If a member desires to vary the terms of a motion standing in his name, he may do so by giving an amended notice of motion, where such amendment does not, in the opinion of the Presiding Officer, materially alter any principle embodied in the original motion or the scope thereof. Such amended notice of motion shall run from the time at which the original of motion was given.”
