Nigel Taitt – Area Representative | Signal Hill / Patience Hill
Nigel Taitt is the Area Representative for Signal Hill/Patience Hill and a dedicated public servant with a distinguished record of service to Tobago. Born on August 3, 1972, in Piccadilly, Signal Hill, he is a lifelong resident of the constituency and remains deeply rooted in its traditions of community service and civic responsibility.
Mr. Taitt brings over 30 years of experience in law enforcement, having served in the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago Estate Police Department, where he rose to the rank of Corporal. His professional background includes extensive training in criminal investigations, maritime security, counterterrorism, emergency management, occupational safety, and leadership development. He also served as Vice President of the Estate Police Association, earning the confidence and respect of his colleagues through principled leadership.
Elected to the Tobago House of Assembly in 2021, Mr. Taitt previously served as Assistant Secretary in the Division of Food Security, Natural Resources, the Environment and Sustainable Development, with responsibility for marine resources and fisheries. A committed community advocate, he has long been involved in sports administration, youth mentorship, and grassroots development, and remains focused on inclusive development and people-centred governance for the continued advancement of Tobago and its people.
